The main goal of this design is to create a meaningful and relaxing experience geared toward young adults who seek alternative pain relief treatment. This project's site was on the shore of Torch Lake Michigan featuring a Main Building, Main Hall, Tea House, and three A-Frame Cabins. My retreat offers a transformative experience for those who struggle with substance abuse issues, chronic pain, PTSD, and trauma experiences. Integrating architectural elements that maximize natural light, incorporate nature, and provide opportunities for controlled light therapy that can create spaces that support alternative pain relief. Throughout this design process, I prioritize human well-being and comfort to allow spatial contribution to holistic approaches in pain management.
